The departure of Asmir Begovic hinges on the agreement of personal terms with the Cherries.
Chelsea reserve goalkeeper is the subject of transfer interest, as the club have reportedly accepted a £10 million bid from Bournemouth for the services of the goalie. The 29yr old shot-stopper didn’t have enough games to his belt as he managed just 8 appearances in all competitions in Chelsea’s title winning season
Sky Sports report that Chelsea and Bournemouth have moved closer in negotiations to make the move happen after agreeing on the transfer fee although personal terms are yet to be agreed on, between the talented shot-stopper and the Eddie Howe led side.
The former Stoke City goalie joined Chelsea in 2015 and has played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois since his arrival at the club. He also played for Bournemouth in a short loan spell in 2007.
The move will definitely give him a decent chance at a starting berth as he’ll fight to displace Artur Boruc, unlike at Chelsea where he had to contend with a young, promising and relatively world class goalkeeper in the person of the Belgian Thibaut Courtois.
However, the success of the move to Bournemouth is dependent on if he agrees to the personal terms that will be offered by the Cherries for his services. Antonio Conte’s Chelsea may move into the transfer market for another backup goalie to Thibaut Courtois as they will be playing more competitions this season.
