Alex Sandro is set for contract renewal with Juventus amid reported concrete interest from Chelsea, and this was revealed by Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta. He made this known to Gazetta dello Sport:
“Paulo [Dybala] himself has asked for it [a new deal], we will be renewing soon and we will also extend the contract of Alex Sandro.”
Chelsea have been on a hot pursuit of Alex Sandro since the summer and are currently lining up a 70 million pound offer for the Brazilian in January according to some sources.
Sandro is a on a current contract that runs till 2020, and an extension will lengthen the contract, as well as almost double his current wages, which is presently at 2.5 million pounds to 4.5 million pounds, Gazetta reports.
The Brazilian fullback joined Juventus in 2015 from Porto and has since established himself as one of the best left backs in the game currently, and this is evidenced in the stats he has garnered overtime in the left back position for the Bianconeri.
Sandro is a very creative fullback who doesn’t lag behind when it comes to assuming defensive responsibilities. Chelsea already has Marcos Alonso who has proven himself capable since he arrived at Stamford Bridge, therefore, we wait to see how upcoming events in Chelsea’s pursuit of the left back will pan out.
