The search for the next Crystal Palace manager may be nearing its end as Ronald de Boer has revealed that Frank de Boer his brother, who was a former Ajax and Inter Milan Boss is on the verge of becoming the new manager of the Premier League club.
Speculations emerged yesterday from various news sources that the former prestigious Dutch international was at the forefront in the list of those to take over the vacant managerial seat at Selhurst Park.
Ronald de Boer in an interview with talkSPORT disclosed the following:
“I know they are talking. I think it’s just about little terms, the coaching staff etc. I don’t see any problems, but it’s not up to me to say it is a done deal.”
“Hopefully they round things up soon.
“He is very excited. It’s the biggest league – everyone is watching the Premier League.
“You can do something really, if you have the chance. There is money involved, you can buy players.
“Frank stands for his football to be attractive but pressing high up. Make sure the ball most time stays on the ground. He has to know the players and what system fits those players.
“It’s important he has a six week pre-season so he can know the players better.
He further disclosed that he would not be joining Frank de Boer in his managerial adventure in England.
“No. I will be on the phone regularly. I will do my TV work in Holland. He will do it with the coaching staff who are already there.”
This should be a big win for English football as the mid-table clubs continue to attract relatively decent managers to take over their managerial positions. This should be an interesting development as we would get to see how Frank de Boer sets up the Crystal Palace side to help them evolve from Sam Allardyce’s playing style in the forthcoming season if the move materializes.
