Reports indicate that Manchester United are the only club that are interested in signing Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. This was revealed by the player’s father in an interview session.
The Spanish striker who returned to Real Madrid from his loan spell with Juventus last summer has struggled to gain as much playing time as he would like, having been limited to just 43 appearances with little minutes allotted to him in all competitions last season.
However, his quality shone as he still managed 20 goals and 6 assists in his limited role with the Zinedine Zidane tutored side. This indicates that he would probably do better if given more playing time to express himself on the pitch
Rumors have emerged recently on his departure from Madrid with a move away from the club being predicted as many clubs are reportedly interested in adding him to their ranks.
However, Morata’s father has come out to support the claims being made by a Spanish journalist that Man United are the only club who are reportedly interested in the player’s signature at the moment after showing concrete interest.
According to the Metro, reporter Paco Gonzalez said on Cadena Cope: “I know for certain that Manchester United are the only club that want Morata, nobody else”
With Alfonso Morata responding: “How do you know that? You are a great journalist, but I must stay silent and say nothing more”
The Metro also reported that Real Madrid have slapped a £70m price tag on the striker although it remains to be seen if the reported Man United interest will see the Old Trafford outfit try to negotiate the transfer fee, or if the possibility of a player exchange deal exists with Da Gea the likeliest player to be offered to Real Madrid who have a long-standing interest in the services of the goalkeeper.
