Reports are rife that Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has agreed personal terms with Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. The Manchester Evening News has reported that the Serbian international will be reuniting with former Boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

According to reports, Matic has been eager to reunite with Jose Mourinho after the duo worked together at Stamford Bridge for two years. Albeit, with rumors of a not so rosy relationship between the two after Mourinho introduced Matic in a game as a substitute and also subbed him off 28 minutes later into the game.

Matic revealed that the incident made him feel terrible, although the defensive midfielder has been described as an excellent professional with a strong mentality which has attracted Mourinho.

The Serbian international made a return to the Premier League to rejoin Chelsea in 2014 under the managerial helm of Mourinho who gave the green light for his signing from Benfica.

SunSport had initially revealed Mourinho’s interest in the Serbian last month. The Portuguese boss is said to have also settled any issues he may have had with Juan Mata after becoming Manchester United boss.

The imminent arrival of Matic to Old Trafford may put an end to the club’s pursuit of Tottenham’s Eric Dier and Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko who is also reported to be attracting huge interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea are gradually becoming pros in selling off their first team players to direct rivals in the Premier League and this would be the second of such business being done with the Old Trafford outfit. Chelsea ensured that they kept the Serbian international for last season’s campaign but are willing to let him leave this season. His departure should pave the way for Bakayoko’s entry into Chelsea’s midfield if they succeed in their pursuit of the Monaco midfielder.
