Onyekuru arrives at Anderlecht, receives jersey number immediately

Reports indicate that Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru has arrived at his new club RSC Anderlecht in time to join them in commencing their pre-season training camp activities in Austria.

The 20 year old Nigerian forward completed a move to the blue part of Merseyside for a transfer fee of 7 million pounds, and was subsequently sent out on loan to the Belgian Champions for the whole of the 2017/18 football season.

The former apprentice of the Aspire Academy, linked up with his new teammates and was immediately given his jersey number for the season

According to reports, Everton beat the likes of Arsenal and West Ham United to capture the signature of Onyekuru before sending him out on loan for the rest of the season based on the advice of club manager Ronald Koeman regardless of work permit issues.

Koeman believes that one more season in the Belgian top division with Anderlecht who are also eligible for the UEFA Champions League competition will enhance his footballing skills and develop his career rapidly.

Henry Onyekuru is expected to feature as a central figure and top man in Anderlecht’s attacking line for the forthcoming season after netting 24 for goals, and emerging as joint top scorer in the league with KAS Eupen last season
