Premier League Match-day 28 Numbers


The Premier League match day 28 fixtures kicked off today, albeit with postponements of some key games due to the engagement of various clubs in the FA cup. Only 3 matches were played today in the PL.  Bournemouth played host to West Ham, Everton welcomed West Brom while Swansea visited Hull in a game between two resurgent teams battling to stay above relegation waters after the introduction of new managers to both sides. Let’s take a look at some significant numbers put up by the clubs in action today

  • Bournemouth and West Ham squared off against each other  in a 4-2-3-1 formation on paper with the homes side emerging victorious
  • West Brom’s 4-1-4-1 formation and line up fell prey to Everton’s 4-2-3-1
  • Hull’s 4-1-4-1 outwitted Swansea’s 4-3-3 formation
  • The clean sheet of the day was kept by Everton’s defense line
  • West Brom failed to score
  • 13 yellow cards were brandished with Bournemouth receiving the most – 5
  • Swansea and Everton received the least yellow cards. 1 each

The outstanding performance of the day should go to Everton, the blue boys from Merseyside. They put up a strong performance and emerged victorious against Tony Pulis’ men.
