Real Madrid show support to Cristiano Ronaldo over tax fraud allegation

Reports emerged recently about Cristiano Ronaldo’s supposed involvement in tax fraud worth €14.7 million. The incident appears to be obscuring events at Real Madrid and the club have responded by showing commitment to the player’s cause career by throwing their full weight behind the player in support.

In a statement released by Real Madrid on Wednesday morning concerning the incident, the club expressed their confidence that their star man Cristiano Ronaldo would prove his innocence to tax authorities involved in the case.

The alleged fraudulent act is reported to have been committed in 2011 where he was supposed to have made payment at the rate of 24%, which upped to 24.75% in 3 years preceding 2014. The full Real Madrid statement read:

Real Madrid CF put their full confidence in our player, Cristiano Ronaldo, who we understand has acted in legal accordance regarding compliance with his tax obligations.

Cristiano Ronaldo has always shown since his arrival at Real Madrid CF, in July 2009, a clear will to fulfill all his tax obligations.

Real Madrid CF is absolutely convinced that our player Cristiano Ronaldo will prove his total innocence in this process. Real Madrid CF hopes that the authorities will act as quickly as possible so that his innocence can be demonstrated as soon as possible.
