Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has insisted that former Chelsea defender David Luiz should be named as the club's new captain. Unai Emery is set to name his captains for the season after Arsenal welcome Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. Granit Xhak has been wearing the armband thus far but his performances have come under fire. Therefore, Merson has opined that David Luiz should be handed the captain's armband. In a chat with The Debate, Merson said: "The worrying thing for me is I heard the manager say he's going to have five captains, which tells me he has no idea what his team is"  "Unai Emery's been there a year-and-a-half, he's got to have five captains because he doesn't have a clue what his best team is.
