It has been revealed that Arsenal have held concrete talks with Freiburg about a potential move for center-back Caglar Soyuncu although a fee has yet to be agreed, the player’s agent has said.
In a chat with Turkish Football, Mustafa Dogru revealed that Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been keeping an eye on Soyuncu and the Gunners are eager to complete a deal for the 22-year-old Turkey international.
“Sven is interested in Caglar — there are concrete talks, and all that remains is for a fee to be agreed,” Dogru said.
“There are four Premier League sides who’ve made a move for Soyuncu that we are in talks with. There is also interest from Atletico Madrid in Spain and a few clubs in France, Italy and Germany.
“I’m not surprised by the interest — Caglar is a modern defender, he’s mobile, fast, dual-footed, has an excellent passing range.
“He’s tough and very physical, and I think the Premier League is ideal for a defender with his attributes.”
If the move materializes, Soyuncu will become the second center-back to join Arsenal this summer with a deal for Dortmund’s Sokratis Papastathopoulos expected to be finalized soon.
