Eredivisie giants Ajax have slapped a £35million price tag on goalkeeper Andre Onana as Chelsea and other European clubs consider a summer move.
Onana has been the first-choice goalie at Ajax for the last four seasons and has garnered experience in Europa League and Champions League football. His consistency for the Eredivisie outfit has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, and Paris-Saint Germain.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are weighing up a £35m bid for Onana after concerns were raised over Kepa Arrizabalaga’s run of inconsistencies between the goalposts.
The Blues signed Kepa from Athletic Bilbao in a record deal worth £71.6million in 2018. It can be recalled that he lost his place to Willy Caballero after some poor uns after Christmas.
Onana has now emerged as the potential replacement for the Spain international. However, he has two years left on is contract and Chelsea will have to part with a sizeable sum to acquire him.
