Andres Iniesta signs ‘contract for life’ with Barcelona


Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has announced the agreement of a contract for life with the club on Friday, ending every speculation of his departure from club he has played for, his entire career

“Barcelona and Andres Iniesta have reached an agreement to renew his contract for life which will tie both parties together,” Barcelona said in a statement.

Iniesta has been at Barcelona since he was 12, and made his professional debut for the club in 2002. He is second to Xavi in the club’s record of all time leading appearances with 633 games to his name, scoring 54 goals in that time.

His current contract was set to expire in June 18. He will be giving a news conference at the club’s Camp Nou stadium later on Friday in company of the club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
