Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati has expressed gratitude after making his debut for the club in the 5:2 La Liga win over Real Betis at the Camp Nou on Sunday.
Ansu Fati, 16, trained with the first team during the week but was a surprise inclusion in Ernesto Valverde’s matchday squad.
The surprise got better when he came on as a substitute for Carles Perez to establish himself as the club’s second-youngest debutant.
After the game, the player expressed his thoughts about what had transpired in the week leading to his debut for the Catalans:
“The truth is that I was very nervous but I only have words of thanks to everyone, the club, the coach and the fans, who have received me very well.
“I looked at my parents, my family, who are the ones who have accompanied me to get here. Now it’s time to enjoy the moment and insist that I only have words of thanks.”
