Dani Ceballos will have to wait for a while before making his dream permanent move to Arsenal. Real Madrid are still in charge of the player’s future and it appears that he may make another loan move to the Emirates.
The Spaniard was hoping for a permanent move to Arsenal this summer as there is no room for him at Santiago Bernabeu. Reports even suggested that Arteta discussed with him, on the possibility of another return to the Premier League for another year.
Arsenal went on to seek a move for the player and it appears that they will be getting him for just another year. Ceballos was decent for the Gunners last season and was crucial in their FA Cup triumph against Chelsea. The Spaniard was impressive under Mikel Arteta.
“I’m very happy at Arsenal,” Ceballos said to Sky Sports in July. “It’s a club in which I already have a year of experience, so it would be very easy to return.”
Ceballos is one of the players who successfully evolved with the times at the Emirates and adapted regardless of the transition the club went through last season. It can be recalled that he was originally signed by former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
However, injuries hampered the early stages of his Arsenal career although he finally adapted. It comes as no surprise that the London outfit wanted to seal a permanent deal to have him at the Emirates. However, they’ll have to settle for another season-long loan.
Therefore, Arsenal will make do with a loan deal for the Spaniard and try again next summer. Regardless, Arteta has a number of targets on his mind.
Gabriel Magalhaes has already been confirmed as an Arsenal player ahead of next season while Henrikh Mkhitaryan has finally left the club to join Serie A outfit Roma on a permanent basis.
Arsenal have also been linked with Lyon’s Houssem Aouar amongst others, but it remains to be seen if they can strike a deal for him this summer.
