According to reports, Arsenal are attaching major seriousness to a report that striker Alexandre Lacazette inhaled nitrous oxide from a balloon and will make a decision on the matter internally.
The Frenchman, who has been previously warned over a similar incident, was pictured with a balloon in his mouth and is said to have spread the video amongst his friends, based on reports by Daily Star.
The club’s stance on the matter was made known by a spokesman in a chat with the PA news agency. He said:
“This is a private matter which we are taking seriously. It will be handled internally.”
It can be recalled that the France international was warned by Arsenal in 2018 when video footage of him inhaling the gas in a nightclub with Gunners teammates surfaced.
This will pass for the striker’s second misbehavior in recent weeks having been reminded of his responsibilities by the club last month after he was pictured breaking lockdown rules by not social distancing as his car was being valeted on his driveway.
The FA have reportedly considered the issue as a club matter and will not conduct any investigations.
