Aston Villa may lose Jack Grealish this summer but they have been very proactive in the summer transfer window ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season, and have been signing decent players who fit their profile and standards.
This is coming as the Villans have confirmed the signing of Leon Bailey from Bayern Leverkusen.
The 23-year-old agreed personal terms on a deal that will keep him at Villa Pak until 2025, having played in the Bundesliga with Bayern Leverkusen for the past four and a half seasons.
The two clubs reached an agreement over Bailey on Saturday and it is believed that the transfer fee is in the region of £30 million. Villa boss Dean Smith said:
“Leon is a hugely exciting young striker with great pace and creativity.
“He has enjoyed a successful career at Leverkusen and we are now looking forward to watching him show his skills and talents for Aston Villa in the Premier League.”
Bailey has been previously linked with many Premier League clubs in the past, with Chelsea being one of them according to reports. He joined Bayern Leverkusen from Genk in 2017 after scoring 15 goals in 72 games for the Belgian club.
In his time in Germany, he scored 39 goals in 156 games. The Jamaican would be expected to bring pace to Villa’s attack after scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists in the Bundesliga last season.
