Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has claimed that Real Madrid are threatening players with the appointment of former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
The Los Blancos have been struggling this season, as newly appointed interim manager Santiago Solari has failed to steady the ship as expected.
Jose Mourinho has been linked with a return to Real Madrid since his dismissal from Man United.
In light of this, Guillem Balague, speaking on his show, GB Transfer Podcast, doubted the rumors and added that he’s trying to gather more information on Jose Mourinho’s next move.
“Jose Mourinho will be wanted until the end of his career there’s no doubt that there is always a place for him,” he said.
“I’m looking into this in a lot of details, I’m looking at sports psychologists under him, players who played against him and developed for him.
“It seems like he’s at a little bit of a crossroad, a little bit stuck, is he going back home to learn some more of his mistakes? Or does he think everyone else is at fault.
“The club who are rumoured to wanting him are Real Madrid but I just don’t see it.”
Guillem Balague went on to claim that Madrid president Florentino Perez may be considering the idea in a bid to keep the squad on their toes so that they can improve as the season progresses.
“I know Real Madrid are going through transition, but the kind of project he [Mourinho] will want to lead is one requiring the type of money that Real Madrid don’t have anymore,” he added.
“I think it’s the threat of Mourinho that Real Madrid want to use inside the camp that makes them all work very hard, and then he ends up not coming than a real factor.”
