Reports from Mundo Deportivo suggest that Barcelona are eyeing a move for PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet as a possible replacement for second choice goalie Jasper Cillesen.
Cillesen is not satisfied with life at the Camp Nou after playing second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The Dutchman is now looking towards an exit from the club in the summer.
Cillesen has featured only 21 times for Barcelona since he joined from Ajax in 2016. He is yet to feature for the Catalan outfit in the ongoing season.
The Dutch goalkeeper is keen for more playing time. He was heavily rumored to make a move to Juventus this summer but nothing materialized.
The 29-year-old has 3 years left in his contract with Barcelona and is keen to exit the Camp Nou if an offer comes in January or in the summer.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are believed to have scouted his compatriot Zoet recently and were impressed with his qualities.
Zoet has been with PSV since 2008 and has made over 200 first-team appearances for the Eredivisie outfit. He has gone on to win 3 Eredivisie titles with the club in the process. The shot-stopper has also made 7 appearances for PSV this season and has kept 3 clean sheets thus far.
The player recently signed a new contract with PSV but is believed to be open to a move to the Camp Nou. The player apparently has all the attributes of a goalkeeper that will suit Barcelona’s standards.
According to reports, Barcelona will continue to monitor the goalkeeper.
