According to a report from Goal, Barcelona are considering making a move for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata who’ll become a free agent at the end of the season when his contract runs out.
The Catalan giants have reportedly made contact with the 30-year-old Spanish playmaker who appears to have fallen down the pecking order since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Barcelona are eager to establish a pre-contract agreement with Juan Mata who is also attracting interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
Ultimately, the possibility of the deal will be dependent on if he renews his contract with Manchester United or not. Man United are believed to be in talks with the former Valencia and Chelsea man but both parties are yet to reach an agreement.
Juan Mata currently earns a weekly wage of £140,000 at Manchester United. He joined the Red Devils from Chelsea in January 2014 and has gone on to score 44 goals and provide 35 assists in 208 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.
