Spurs in talks to hire Paulo Fonseca as new manager

Reports in England suggest that Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with former AS Roma coach Paulo Fonseca for him to be their next manager. The 48-year-old Portuguese manager would take over the role on a full-time basis after his compatriot Jose Mourinho was sacked in April. It must also be noted that Mourinho has also replaced Fonseca at Roma. Ryan Mason was the caretaker manager at Spurs after Mourinho's departure as they finished 7th on the log in the 2020/21 season. It was a disappointing end to the season as was more was expected from them. Meanwhile, the club have appointed a new Sporting Director in Fabio Paratici who left Juventus after 11 years. This is a big one for Spurs although Daniel Levy's efforts to replace Jose Mourinho since his departure have not been success...

Conte reveals why talks with Tottenham broke down

Everyone thought we would be seeing Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur for the 2021/22 season and that we would be seeing the North Londoners launch a serious challenge for available silverware. Well, it seems it was not to be as reported discussions between the two parties were called off after failing to reach an agreement. Conte has now come out to say that the manager vacancy at Tottenham was not a very convincing project for him to accept. Reports suggested that an agreement was close before a breakdown last Thursday. According to Standard Sport, Spurs were the ones that withdrew due to Conte's demands. However, the former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager has claimed that it was him that backed away from the discussion table. READ: Alba – Luis Suarez was a gift from Barca t...

Tottenham open talks with PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino

This is one speculation that should come as a shocker regardless of if it is true or not. A report has emerged from The Athletic that Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Mauricio Pochettino in a bid to re-hire the Argentine from Paris Saint-Germain. It can be recalled that Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham over a year ago and moved on to join PSG in January as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel who is presently at Chelsea. However, reports suggest that he is unhappy with the club hierarchy and would be open to a move away from the club. 2020/21 PL season – Top four drama awaits on the last day

2020/21 Premier League season reaches its climax on Sunday as all teams will be in action simultaneously as expected. Some teams will be playing their last games in the Premier League till further notice as the three relegated teams have been confirmed namely, Fulham, West Brom, and Sheffield United. One can't help but wonder where it all went wrong for the latter who impressed under Chris Wilder last season. The strongest title contender Manchester City have also emerged victoriously and there won't be any drama for the title on the final day and it's been a while we experienced that. However, the race for the top four will be fierce on the final day as two spots are up for grabs. Manchester City and Manchester United have already sealed their place in next season's UEFA Champ...

Guardiola and Solskjaer refuse to talk about Kane

Harry Kane's future at Tottenham Hotspur continues to be in doubt but the managers of the top clubs linked with him ahead of the summer transfer window chose to avoid transfer talks concerning the Three Lions captain. The Englishman has reportedly told Tottenham that he wants to leave after being frustrated with the club's lack of major progress in recent seasons. The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United are the English clubs who may be able to afford the striker in the summer and have been heavily linked with a move for him. However, when Pep Guardiola was asked about Kane during the post-match interview after his side's Premier League 3:2 loss away to Brighton at the Amex on Tuesday, he replied: "Next question. He’s a Tottenham Hotspur player" Manchester U...

Chelsea determined to win the race for Harry Kane

Reports suggest that Chelsea are planning a sensational swoop for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.  The England international is considering his future with Spurs set to miss out on the UEFA Champions League for the second season in a row, as well as the fact that there is no trophy to show for his performances thus far in a Spurs shirt. Spurs lost 3:1 to Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United in the Premier League at Elland Road during the weekend and are now seven points behind in the race for a top-four finish with just 3 games to go.  This is coupled with the fact that Spurs' qualification for next year's UCL is the minimum requirement to keep Kane committed to the project of the North London club. Both Manchester clubs have already been linked with the 27-year-old striker but ...

Agent – Bale has been through a tough ride at Tottenham

According to Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett, the Welshman has overcome an unnecessary tough ride in his season-long loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur and is now playing at his best. Bale, 31, made a return to Spurs in the summer on loan from Real Madrid but was just a peripheral figure with only six Premier League starts under Jose Mourinho before the Portuguese manager was fired in April. Since then, he has started two Premier League games under interim boss Ryan Mason and has scored 4 goals including a hat-trick against Sheffield United on Sunday. When asked if the Welshman would extend his stay at the club in a chat with Sky Sports, Barnett said: "Nothing has been discussed at the moment. "He had a tough ride and I don't think that should have been necessary. "He came a...

Spurs to target Erik Ten Hag as Bayern close in on Nagelsmann

Tottenham Hotspur may be forced to wait in their quest to replace Jose Mourinho as their prime target Julian Nagelsmann is very close to completing a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. Well, I'm one of those who didn't see Nagelsmann's move to Spurs happening especially after Hansi Flick's expected departure from the Allianz Arena. This will put more pressure on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who has already received calls to quit from supporters who were disappointed and angered by the club's involvement in the European Super League plan. Therefore, this recent development will likely see Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag move up the list of potential candidates for the Spurs job, including the likes of Ralf Rangnick and Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate. Nagelsmann was the preferred c...

Carabao Cup triumph won’t be enough to keep Kane

Jonathan Woodgate believes that Tottenham Hotspur must start delivering trophies if they want Harry Kane to stay although he is not convinced that emerging as Carabao Cup champions would cut it. The defender in his playing days carved a niche for himself in Spurs folklore after he played a significant part in winning the club's last silverware via an extra-time winner against Chelsea in the 2008 League Cup final. The North Londoners will seek further glory at Wembley this weekend in the same competition when they face Manchester City in the final on Sunday. Harry Kane is a doubt for the game and has not won any major honor since making his debut for the club and Woodgate says the club need to end the 13-year trophy drought and make more investment in order to keep their star man. ...
