Chelsea Identify Three Alternatives To Jules Kounde

The transfer battle between Chelsea and Barcelona this summer continues to rage as recent reports suggest that the Blues could eventually miss out on the signature of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde as the Catalans look set to hijack the deal.

The Frenchman has established himself as one of the solid center-backs in La Liga and it appears that may opt to remain in Spain instead of move away from the La Liga.

Therefore, Chelsea may have to look elsewhere for alternatives and a report from the Evening Standard suggests that they have identified three possible targets namely; Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar. PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe, and RB Leipzig’s Josep Gvardiol.

The deal for Kounde is complicated with the player’s final destination not yet cast in stone and the Blues and the Catalans continue to hassle each other.

The Blues have already lost Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger and must make notable replacements for the duo although they’ve acquired Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

Having suffered a 4-nil loss to Arsenal in their last pre-season game, suitable replacements in defense cannot come sooner for Chelsea.

Therefore, they will be looking to acquire one of Gvardiol, Kimpembe, or Skriniar if they fail with the move for Jules Kounde who appears to be highly sought after by Barcelona.
