Chelsea are ready to sell Emerson Palmieri but only if the valuation of €40m is met as reports of interest from the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan continue to circulate.
A report by The Sun suggested that Chelsea are considering a summer swoop for Leicester defender Ben Chilwell and it is believed that he could be a replacement for Emerson.
Therefore, the idea might be to offload the Italian and use some of the funds to ensure a move for Chilwell who is valued at £50m.
Emerson, 25, is open to a return to Serie A according to Calciomercato although he’s happy in London. Therefore, it would take around €40m to convince Chelsea to let go of the left-back as they are not desperate to see him leave.
Juventus and Inter Milan have been reported to be interested in signing Emerson this summer and have heightened their interest in the player, albeit a demand for a possible initial loan or player exchange deal.
If Chelsea land Chilwell or any of their speculated left-back target this summer, then it’s likely that Emerson will Leave Stamford Bridge. The fullback will surely enhance Juventus’ depth in that position.
Emerson has played just 18 times for Chelsea this season and was subbed from the matchday squad in 4 out of the Blues’ last 5 Premier League games before the suspension of the campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It appears that the fullback is yet to gain full trust from Chelsea boss Frank Lampard with his defensive and attacking abilities on the pitch.
It can be recalled that he and Marcos Alonso were reportedly swapped in games as Lampard sought for who was more reliable between them and the Spaniard appears to have won the battle. Regardless, we wait to see how his future at the club pans out during the summer.
