Serie A giants have confirmed that manager Massimiliano Allegri will leave the club at the end of the 2018/19 season. Allegri, 51, has been in charge of the Old Ladies since joining from AC Milan in 2014.
The Italian tactician has gone on to win 5 consecutive Serie A titles, as well as 4 Coppa Italia titles. The 2018/19 season was the first in which he didn’t secure a domestic double since he was appointed.
Regardless of his triumphs with Juventus on the domestic season, the UEFA Champions League title continued to elude the club, as they’ve lost two UCL finals, one against Barcelona in 2015, and Real Madrid in 2017.
The club released a statement on its official website confirming Allegri’s departure this summer: “Massimiliano Allegri will not sit on the bench of Juventus in the next season 2019/2020.
“The coach and the President, Andrea Agnelli, will meet together the media at the press conference, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 18, at 14 o’clock at the conference room Dell’allianz Stadium.”
