Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli was held at knifepoint and punched by robbers who broke into his house on Wednesday morning. The report by Daily Mail noted that the England international was hit in the face but sustained no major injuries.
The robbers were two in number and broke into Alli’s North London residence after midnight elapsed and threatened him. Alli is currently in isolation with his brother Harry Hickford alongside their partners and a friend.
The robbers assaulted him and carted away with various items like jewelry and watches. Meanwhile, a CCTV camera installed in the home has been retrieved and handed to the police who have launched an investigation into the incident.
A police spokesman said: “Police were called at approximately 00:35hrs on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address Barnet.
“Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewelry, including watches, before fleeing.
“One male occupant of the property, aged in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.
“No arrests; inquiries into the circumstances continue.”
A source also informed The Sun saying: ‘’Dele was still up and playing pool downstairs with six friends.
“It all kicked off and Dele was hit in the mouth by one of the robbers. One of his friends tried to have a go back and was also beaten.
