Brazil winger Everton appears to have hinted at a move to Arsenal by following Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram.
According to reports in Brazil on Sunday, Arsenal’s new technical director Edu met with Everton’s agent over a move to the Emirates this summer.
Meanwhile, subsequent reports have claimed that the Gunners have already agreed a £36m deal with Gremio for the player who is due to undergo a medical in Porto Alegre.
Arsenal are presently in the market for a new winger and have already seen a £40m for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha knocked back.
Lille’s Nicolas Pepe is also on Arsenal’s shortlist although his £70m valuation is likely to result in discontinued interest from the North London club.
Martinelli is Arsenal’s only signing thus far in the summer transfer window, and Everton may have hinted that he’s next in line to move to the Emirates after he began following the 18-year-old on Instagram.
Everton, who is currently on a holiday played a key role in Brazil’s Copa America triumph this month. He won the Golden Boot in the competition with three goals to his name. He also won the Man of the Match award in the 3:1 defeat of Peru in the final of the competition.
