Real Madrid and Liverpool will renew their rivalry when they face each other in the quarter-final stages of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League.
Since the draw was made, all eyes have been on how the likes of Mohammed Salah and Sergio Ramos will relate when both sides meet, considering that the latter injured the former the last time both sides met in the UCL final.
Regardless, Real Madrid continue to be plagued by injuries ahead of this tie as Fede Valverde has sustained an injury that will keep him out of action for two weeks. This means that the player’s chance of participating in the first leg of the game is now questionable.
According to a report by MARCA, Fede Valverde didn’t train with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and will miss two weeks of action. His absence will be a major hit as his physicality could be needed in the game against Liverpool.
However, he should be ready to play his part for Los Blancos in the second leg but may not be in the condition to last for the entirety of the game. It can also be recalled that Toni Kroos is presently injured.
The German left the Germany training camp with a groin injury but should be ready to face Liverpool. If Fede Valverde was fully fit, his physicality would help against an intense team like Liverpool if Kroos doesn’t feel ready to start.
