Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has established himself as one who loves to give youth a chance and this has been proven by how he has carried out this task since he was appointed to take over the managerial helm at Camp Nou.

The likes of Oscar Mingueza, Ilaix Moriba, Pedri, and Ronald Araujo were handed decent chances by Koeman last season and some of them became mainstays in the team by the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the preseason period is one where managers can identify youngsters with quality that they can give a run in during the incoming season and a report by Mundo Deportivo suggests that Koeman is not lagging in this regard.

The report suggests that the Dutch manager has identified four players he can hand opportunities in the first team to impress in the 2021/22 season and they are as follows:

Yusuf Demir is an Austrian forward who put pen to paper for the B team this summer but has been very impressive in training.

Barcelona have played two games and the 18-year-old was one of the players that stood out in the frontline. He has been very cohesive with the team and very few players can boast of this. Therefore, the idea of giving him a chance in the first team ahead of the upcoming season.

Alejandro Balde: The Catalans have been on a thorough search for a wide player to provide quality competition for Jordi Alba and it appears that they may have found one in Balde.

The 18-year-old possesses flair and has been very composed in the preseason games he has featured in thus far. He has also been a revelation going forward and it won’t come as a surprise if he makes it into Koeman’s first-team plans.

The remaining two stars have been making decent cases for themselves in the middle of the park in the preseason thus far and they are Nico Gonzalez and Gavi. It is believed that Koeman sees Nico Gonzales as a replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Meanwhile, Gavi, 16, was very impressive against Gimnastic and Girona and his ability to initiate an attack from midfield with the ball has appealed greatly to the manager.

Barcelona have a pool of talents who can pass for stars in the making but have to identify them as this is the first step.

Regardless, we look forward and hope to see these names produce brilliant performances for the Catalans in the 2021/22 season if they are called upon.
