Foxes to test the stamina of Chelsea’s title charge

Chelsea FC currently lead the 2021/22 Premier League table and will return to Premier League action this weekend against Leicester City at King Power Stadium after the just-concluded international break. It’s an early kickoff and we know that such games tend to ve topsy-turvy.

Regardless, the Blues have no choice but to see if they can maintain the momentum that saw them win their 4 and draw 1 out of their last 5 Premier League games.

The last clash was a shock 1 all draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel’s men let their complacency get the better of them.

Leicester City, on the other hand, have not been the high flyers that they’ve been at this stage in previous seasons but are still a major threat and would test Chelsea’s title credentials.

The Foxes, under Brendan Rodgers, know how to take the game to the supposedly big sides at the King Power, and with this being an early kickoff that tends to produce shock results, Chelsea have to be very wary.

They’ve not been particularly impressive this term but Man United can attest to the ruthlessness of the Foxes on their day.

The international break will surely have helped Brendan Rodgers to come up with a strategy that would help his side bounce back in upcoming games and Chelsea is their first test.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel and his men cannot afford to drop points in this one if they want to maintain their points gap as the likes of Man City and surprisingly West Ham are bearing upon them.

Chelsea have been decent but their next round of games would help us get a clearer picture of how dominant they are this season. They’ll come up against the likes of Man United and West Ham in their next 5 Premier League games and if they can keep up with the good results, they’ll maintain their place.

However, if they can’t, their chasers will be looking to capitalize on any slips. The early kickoff against Leicester on Saturday would be a pointer to if Chelsea’s 2021/22 Premier League title charge is waning or if it is waxing strong. We look forward to this tricky clash and what it holds for both sides.
