Guardiola sets new record with City’s victory against Chelsea

Manchester City manager Josep Pep Guardiola has created another record as a gaffer. He’s now recorded more victories than any other manager in the club’s history.

Pep Guardiola and his players had their pound of flesh taken from Chelsea, another title contender at lunchtime as the European champions were beaten by the English champions with a solitary goal being enough to settle the tie.

The victory against Chelsea was Pep;’s 221st wins since taking the job of Manchester City in the summer of 2016.

The win against the Blues at Stafford Bridge made him eclipse the record set by former Manchester City coach Les McDowall with 220 wins during his 13-year period as City gaffer, with one of his seasons spent in the second tier of English football.

Pep Guardiola’s said “I am so proud. The period we have been together has been magnificent.

“We can lose games, lose finals, but we play with incredible courage in every single game.“We go to play our game every single time and that makes me proud.”

Pep’s reign at Man City has been a successful one. In his five full seasons as Citizens’ manager, he’s revolutionized the team and their style of play, they’re more deadly and scarier than what he met.

Man City’s trophy cabinet has been surprisingly filled with an additional 10 added to it by their decorated gaffer.

Guardiola’s record for City reads: Played 303, won 221, drawn 37, and lost 45. In that period, the Blue side of Manchester have netted 738 goals and conceded 246.

The UEFA Champions League has been the missing trophy that the Spaniard would like to add to City’s cabinet.

They came close last season but they lost the money-spinning UCL trophy to the Blue side of London, Chelsea in Portugal. He’s laid down the marker again and the studded city side with Pep in charge, are more than capable of doing the unthinkable.
