Inter have rejected two Chelsea bids for Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea are desperate to sign a striker this summer but have been unsuccessful with the targets they have in mind ahead of the 2021/22 season thus far.

According to The Athletic, the Premier League outfit have had two offers rejected for Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku who has been heavily linked with a return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Lukaku left Chelsea in 2014 but has shone brightly since his move to Inter Milan. He played a significant role in Inter Milan’s Serie A triumph in the 2020/21 season and his performances have attracted Chelsea boos Thomas Tuchel who reportedly considers the Belgian as a top transfer target this summer.

It appears the Blues have accepted defeat in their chase for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and are also aware that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is off-limits.

Inter Milan are not interested in selling Lukaku this summer and the Belgian is happy to stay on at the club, as he confirmed earlier.

Regardless, Chelsea have not given up in their bid to sign him this summer and it has emerged that their two previous bids for him were rejected.

It remains to be seen how long Inter can hold on as the Stamford Bridge outfit are aware that the Serie A champions need cash despite the big-money sale of Achraf Hakimi to PSG this summer.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez could leave Inter this summer and links to Arsenal ut Chelsea are hoping to convince the Italians to part with Lukaku instead.
