Former Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes says Leroy Sane is not yet an absolutely top player and is being overpriced by Manchester City.
Sane has been repeatedly linked with a move to Bayern Munich but City’s valuation of the 24-year-old has been a stumbling block to the move.
The Germany international was very close to a move to the Allianz Arena last summer but a deal was hampered after he suffered an anterior cruciate knee injury.
In an interview with Bild, Jupp Heynckes who attained major successes in his time as Bayern boss said:
“For me, he has not yet made a breakthrough to being an absolute top player.
“I think this is a player at a crossroads. Will he keep working hard on himself, or will he remain just as an exceptional talent?
“He has to be ready to make the next big step. Because there is no use in flashing the talent from time to time. I also honestly tell you that I don’t consider the price justifiable.”
