Juve progressing in talks to sign Manuel Locatelli

The Old Ladies will be looking to regain their dominance of Serie A after hiring Massimiliano Allegri to replace Andrea Pirlo in Turin. It’s no more news that they lost the Serie A title to a determined Inter Milan side in the 2020/21 season.

They’ll also be looking to make major acquisitions and additions to the team before the 2021/22 season kicks off and they’ve already begun the process according to reports.

Juventus are currently in talks with fellow Serie A side for Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli and the talks are progressing steadily. Sassuolo want a fee in the region of £34m for Locatelli, 23, but Sky Italia have revealed that any deal would likely include a player going in the opposite direction.

Locatelli has been a significant and impressive player for Italy at the ongoing Euros and scored twice against Switzerland last week before being rested in the game against Wales as Roberto Mancini’s men had already sealed a place in the next stage of the competition.

Juve are looking to lessen the financial burden of acquiring Locatelli by looking for an agreement on a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Meanwhile, teenage Romania defender Radu Dragusin would likely be included as a makeweight in the deal.

It is expected that Dragusin will replace Marlon who opted for a move to Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
