Liverpool prepare 25 million euros for Emerson Palmieri in January

 

The state of Liverpool’s defence has been a cause for concern among many of the club’s faithful, and the club is looking to remedy the defensive frailties that have been seen this season with a reported move for Roma defender Emerson Palmieri.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have let in 16 goals in just 9 Premier League games so far this season and this has attracted numerous criticisms from various corners. They lost by 4 goals to 1 at Wembley against a Spurs side that have struggled to get goals in the same ground.

The club is reportedly set to act in the January transfer window, and indications from Nicolo Schira, show that Palmieri is a 25 million euro target for the Merseyside outfit, as Alberto Moreno is yet to convince in the left back role since moving to England.

Palmieri joined Roma in 2015, and made 36 appearances in all competitions last season, playing an integral part under former boss Luciano Spalletti.

However, he is recovering from a cruciate ligament damage that occurred in May and is yet to feature for Roma this season.

Liverpool are said to be confident he will make a full recovery, as they prepare a 25 million euro bid for January, alongside a reported contract which will run until 2022.
