Lucas Digne has been the subject of interest from some clubs in the Premier League and will be heading to Aston Villa after they reportedly agreed on a deal with Everton worth £25m for the Frenchman.
Yesterday’s reports suggested that a deal was close while the likes of Fabrizio Romano disclosed that discussions over a permanent transfer of the full-back were underway. He has now revealed that a medical has been scheduled.
The likes of Chelsea and Inter Milan pulled out of the race when Everton insisted that they were only interested in a loan-to-buy deal whilst Digne was not interested in a move to Newcastle United.
His career with the Toffees appeared to be over after he fell out with Rafael Benitez over tactics and the role that was specified for him to play on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Everton have secured his replacement with the acquisition of Ukrainian left-back Vitalil Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev in a deal worth £18m.
