Man City and Watford handed major boosts ahead of FA Cup final

Manchester City will go head to head-to-head against Watford in the English FA Cup on Saturday in a game where they’ve been tipped as the overwhelming favorites.

Regardless, the competition is one where upsets abound and Pep Guardiola’s men will be wary of that.

Manchester City are on course for a domestic treble which will be sealed with a victory over Javi Gracia’s men on Saturday. Meanwhile, Watford will also be looking to end the season on a high with a significant laurel to show by their standards.

The Citizens have been handed a boost ahead of the game as Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho could be available for the crunch fixture. The player has returned to training ahead of the game and will definitely be raring to go.

Pep Guardiola revealed the same in a chat with the press: “Fernandinho trained yesterday and today”

However, French fullback Benjamin Mendy will play no part in the game due to fitness concerns as he continues to recuperate.

Meanwhile, Javi Gracia has been handed a major boost ahead of the game as Jose Holebas has been made available for selection by the FA.

It can be recalled that Holebas was red carded in the Hornet’s last Premier League game of the 2018/19 league season. However, the decision has been overturned.

The manager will have to make a decision on who the shot-stopper for the Hornets will be, as veteran Heurelho Gomes has played in every round of the FA Cup campaign while Ben Foster is the main man between the sticks for the Hornets.
