According to reports, Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller. The Red Devils are believed to have made inquiries for the 30-year-old German.
Thomas Muller is said to be unhappy at the Allianz Arena due to limited opportunities this season under Niko Kovac. Meanwhile, Man United are long-time admirers of Muller and previously tried to acquire his signature under Louis Van Gaal.
However, there are doubts over the possibility of a move as the Old Trafford outfit cannot offer UEFA Champions League football presently. Muller is also a target for Inter Milan. Inter are out for a back-up for the injured Alexis Sanchez.
A January move for Muller won’t be easy as club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently stated that he is a key player for the Bavarian giants and is still under contract until 2021.
Muller’s playing time has been limited since Philippe Coutinho’s loan move from Barcelona. Meanwhile, comments from the president of the club Uli Hoeness are also thought to have annoyed the player.
He said: “Weeks and months ago, people hounded us to make expensive transfers.
“Then Coutinho comes and now the word is, ‘How can they not start Muller?’
“But it was obvious that if [Coutinho] comes things would be difficult for Muller.”
