Manchester City have completed the acquisition of Brazilian starlet Kayky from Fluminense in a deal reportedly worth an initial £8.5million.
The player is currently 17 and has been compared with PSG star Neymar and was also being monitored by Liverpool and Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk.
However, the Citizens have emerged victoriously in the race for the youngster who has scored two goals in 6 first-team appearances for Fluminense in their state championship this year.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Kayky will make the move to Manchester City next year with personal terms already agreed upon and a five-year deal signed.
Manchester City will pay the Brazilian club an initial £8.5m with add-ons to follow and this will see the transfer fee rise to around £15m.
Fluminense will also benefit in the future as they will receive a percentage of any future sale. Kayky will join the youth setup of the Manchester outfit once he arrives in England.
Meanwhile, Man City are also interested in another Fluminense starlet known as Metinho. It can be recalled that the club signed two players from South America in 2020. They signed 18-year-old Brazilian right-back Yan Couto in March, and he joined from Cortiba on July 1.
He was subsequently sent out on loan for this season to City Football Group side Girona and is currently playing in the Segunda Division in Spain.
The Citizens also signed Peruvian defender Kluiverth Aguilar from Allianza Lima in a deal worth £1.5million in April 2020. The player will finally join the club later this year when he turns 18 in May.
