Maurizio Sarri’s contract resolved as Chelsea pay compensation fee

Reports in Italy suggest that Maurizio Sarri is a step closer to becoming the new manager at Stamford Bridge after being released from his Napoli contract.

Sarri has already been replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli’s managerial helm and has reportedly agreed a deal with Chelsea FC.

He had been under contract with the Partenopei as a compensation deal had yet to be agreed between the two parties with Chelsea balking at Napoli’s asking price. However, emerging reports from Il Mattino suggest that Sarri’s contract has been resolved with Chelsea paying the €5m to Napoli for the Italian tactician.

Sarri is now set to sign a three-year contract until 2021 at Stamford Bridge worth €3m per season after a pay off has been agreed with Antonio Conte. Sarri is expected to sign in London tomorrow, but no official announcement will be made until Conte leaves.
