Jose Mourinho appears to have dropped hints of a possible return to Real Madrid. The Los Blancos are struggling this season having sacked Julen Lopetegui and replacing him with Santiago Solari on an interim basis.

Regardless, Madrid have continued to produce some poor results. In a chat with Record, when Mourinho was asked if there was room for a possible return to the Santiago Bernabeu, he replied

“When a professional returns or is invited to return to a club it is a tremendous honour,” Mourinho told Record.

“I felt it when I returned to Chelsea.”

The Portuguese boss won 2 Premier League titles and other titles with Chelsea in his first spell at Stamford Bridge, before leaving and taking a job at Inter Milan.

After impressing at Inter Milan by winning the treble, he left for Real Madrid in 2010, before leaving three years later after winning 1 La Liga title and other trophies with the Los Blancos.

He returned for a second spell at Chelsea where he won the Premier League and a League Cup before being dismissed and taking over at Manchester United. He was recently relieved of his job at Old Trafford after a run of poor results and falling out with the squad.

He added: “When a coach or a player he comes back, it means we did something positive”

“It’s not a gamble in the dark, the clubs are trying to hire a player or a coach they know, they’ve already been there, and if they invite you it’s because they know the value of the person.”

“I have worked with some wonderful people and I believe that some will be my friends for life”
