Newcastle consider move for Spurs left-back Danny Rose

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are considering offering a deal to Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose as they need a new left-back this month.

Danny Rose’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain, and more so amid reports of a bust-up with Jose Mourinho. The England international’s current contract will expire in 18 months and he has reiterated that he would rather see out the contract than seek a move away from the club.

Regardless, he has seen his playing time reduce the more since the appointment of Jose Mourinho, thereby resulting in interest from Steve Bruce’s Magpies.

Newcastle received a big blow after Jetro Willems’ season-ending injury in their 1 nil win against Chelsea last weekend and Paul Dummett will also be on the sidelines for the rest of the season, leaving them short of left-back options.

Danny Rose was not in the squad in the goalless draw against Watford last weekend with the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Jan Vertonghen, Japhet Tanganga, and Ben Davies all ahead of him in the pecking order.
