Pogba out for a few weeks after fresh ankle injury

Paul Pogba has suffered a fresh injury setback and may miss action for Manchester United in the opening weeks of 2020. The French midfielder hoped for a return on New Year’s Day against Arsenal at the Emirates but was not included in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad for the game.

Pogba has not played for three months in the ongoing season due to various ankle and foot problems, although he played cameo roles in the games against Watford and Newcastle United.

Solskjaer has confirmed that the France international has returned to the sidelines, and he made this known in a chat with MUTV. He said: “[Pogba]’s injured. He’s feeling some discomfort in his ankle.

“He’ll be out for a few weeks.”

This is a setback for the Red Devils who are also without Scott McTominay who has been ruled out for close to eight weeks after suffering a knee ligament damage in the game against Newcastle.
