Raiola says Pogba’s focused on United for now, but doesn’t rule out exit
Mino Raiola has revealed that Paul Pogba is currently only focused on a return to action for Manchester United although he didn’t rule out a departure from the club for his client as time goes on. Regardless, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has insisted that the player will remain at Man United despite speculation around his future.
Paul Pogba has been out of action for the Red Devils since last 2019 due to an ankle injury. He has made just 8 appearances for Man United in all competitions this season. Meanwhile, Raiola stated that Pogba is focused on making a return so he can help the Red Devils secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
“Paul Pogba is going through a tough time at the moment and given how sensitive they are in England, let me be clear that he’s focused on having a strong end to the season with Manchester United,” Raiola told Marca.
“He wants to get back into the team, finish the season well and secure the club’s place in the Champions League next year.
“We can’t say what will happen [when Pogba’s contract expires in June 2021]. We can’t know that right now. What matters now is the club and the team.
“We will see what might happen further down the line. There was a lot of interest in him, but it [a transfer] wasn’t possible. Last year doesn’t matter now. We will see what happens.”
