Real Madrid are ready to listen to offers for Luka Jovic in the upcoming transfer window with the striker set to leave the club based on reports in Spain.
The Serbia international moved to the Bernabeu from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer in a deal worth €60million after an impressive season in the Bundesliga.
However, he has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Frenchman Zinedine Zidane. The Serbian has played just 770 minutes thus far and has made 16 appearances for Los Blancos in La Liga.
According to a report by Marca on Wednesday, Real Madrid have put Jovic up for sale. The Serbian has scored just 2 goals for the La Liga giants and this is very poor in comparison to his tally of 27 for Eintracht Frankfurt last season.
The club are reportedly uncertain about his improvement in the future and it remains to be seen if Jovic will be available for the game against Alaves on Friday after being forced into self-isolation.
His friend recently tested positive for coronavirus and had been in contact with him. Although he tested negative, Spanish law insists that he must undergo a period of self-isolation.
Real Madrid will face Granada three days after the clash against Alaves. It’s still unclear if Jovic will be available for that game. It seems like the Serbian can’t cope with the pressure of being a Real Madrid player.
Regardless, Zinedine Zidane and his men will focus on beating Alaves to maintain the points gap between then and Barcelona after the Catalans reduced the gap with a 1 nil win against Espanyol at Camp Nou on Wednesday night.
Real Madrid have their destiny in their hands and will be careful not to let the advantage slip in their quest to wrestle the La Liga title from the grips of Barcelona who have been dominating recently.
