Manchester United provided arguably the biggest shock of the ongoing 2018/19 UEFA Champions League when they came from a goal down to beat Juventus 2:1 in Turin on Wednesday night with just 4 minutes remaining.
The outcome of the game sent shivers down the spine of the Juve faithful, as Mourinho also produced some dramatic scenes with mocking gestures at Juventus fans after the game.
Meanwhile, former Manchester United star and now Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo was left with a sour taste in his mouth after the defeat.
Cristiano Ronaldo opined that Man United’s performance on the night was not deserving of all 3 points.
The Portugal international scored the opener for Juventus in the game but it counted for nothing after Juan Mata’s freekick goal in the 86th minute and an Alex Sandro own goal in the 90th.
Although he was pleased with his goal, he felt that Juventus should have beaten Man United with ease. This is an assertion that definitely won’t go down well with his fans in the Red Devils camp.
“I have seen the replay in the dressing room,” he told Viasat.
“I didn’t realise it was a fantastic goal, but I did good movement and I kick with the ball strong.
“I was happy for the goal but we are a little disappointed because we should have won the game easily, by three or four goals.
“Manchester, they didn’t do much, in my opinion. They created two chances, set pieces, I know the English teams they are always looking for the set pieces.
“But we will learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group so we are good.”
