Sancho set to complete move to Manchester United

Reports claim that Jadon Sancho is set to undergo a medical as his move to Manchester United nears completion.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford for more than a year and a move is very close as the Red Devils and the Bundesliga outfit have reached an agreement on a deal worth £73m.

It can be recalled that the completion of the move was put on hold due to the Euro 2020 tournament which ended on July 11. It’s also no more news that Sancho was one of the three England players to miss a penalty in the loss to Italy at Wembley.

Although he’ll be hurting from the penalty miss, he’ll have no choice but to move on as the Premier League season is barely a month away and a report by  Daily Mail claims that the 21-year-old is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday.

He’s expected to finalize the terms of the deal before going on his port-Euro 2020 holiday. Meanwhile, Red Devils’ boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be keen to see the move completed so he can begin his plans for the season.

Man United finished second last term and lost in the Europa League final and the upcoming 2021/22 season would be a test for the Norwegian who’d be expected to land a trophy for the club sooner than later. Another season without silverware may be detrimental to his future at Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho established himself at Dortmund mostly on the right wing although he was deployed in different positions. It is expected that he would be deployed in the same position at Manchester United as Marcus Rashford is deployed on the left.

His addition should provide some balance in the Red Devils set up as Solskjaer will also be looking to conclude more deals in the coming week with Raphael Varanve being linked with the club
