Leeds United had a swell time on their return to the Premier League last season, finishing in the top half of the table at the end of the season. One of the players that contributed significantly to their successes last term was eventual club Player of the Year Stuart Dallas.
His efforts last season did not go unnoticed as he has been rewarded with a new contract at Elland Road. Stuart Dallas was excellent for the promoted side and helped them establish themselves in the Premier League after a long absence.
It came as no surprise when he was awarded as the Players’ Player and club Player of the Year at Elland Road.
The new contract is a three-year extension and will keep him at the club until 2024. Regardless, the club are still expected to enhance their depth at fullback in the coming week.
This is the case as Barcelona’s Junior Firpo is close to completing a move to Elland Road according to Marca, and this will enhance competition for the defensive positions in the team although Firpo mostly plays as a left-back.
Regardless, he can also be deployed on the right or in the middle, if the need arises.
Meanwhile, Leeds United have made it clear that Dallas still has a big role to play for the club with this new contract based on his impressive performances in the last two seasons. His extension will also be cause for major celebrations amongst the fans of the club.
