Kovac disgusted by racist abuse towards Tchouameni

Monaco coach Niko Kovac has revealed that he was disgusted by the racist remarks thrown at his midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during Tuesday's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round first leg 2 nil defeat of Sparta Pague away from home. Tchouameni who represents the France U21 side scored the opener for the Ligue 1 outfit in the first half before Kevin Volland's goal in the second half secured the victory ahead of Tuesday's return leg. "We are all very sad and disgusted that it continues in the 21st century," Monaco coach Niko Kovac said. "A football field is part of the world. There can be those type of attitudes which have to be stopped. I hope it doesn't happen again. READ: Aston Villa complete move for Leon Bailey "We won the game and we also won against racism," h...

Chelsea eye move for midfield monster

Chelsea are reportedly interested in the acquisition of highly-rated Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni according to a report from Goal. The detailed report linked the 21-year-old midfielder with the Stamford Bridge outfit and also described him as a midfield monster after series of strong displays for the Ligue 1 outfit in recent times. The player would fit the bill at Chelsea as the likes of Jorginho and Kovacic are not as energetic and hard-working as N'Golo Kante, and these are traits that Tchouameni can offer to the Blues if a deal materializes. A move for him would enhance Thomas Tuchel's further improvement of the team ahead of the 2021/22 football season.
