Manuel Lanzini is keen to return home

West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has admitted that he would like to return to his homeland and rejoin the club where he began his professional playing career. Lanzini was not a mainstay in David Moyes' lineups last season and many fans believe he is no more the same player he was before the career-threatening injury he suffered whilst training with the national team on the eve of the 2018 World Cup finals. The attacking midfielder revealed that his heart is set on a return to River Plate where he began his career in 2010 to team up once again with former coach Marcelo Gallardo. He made this known in an interview with TNT Sports on Thursday. "I have spoken a lot with Gallardo and with the leadership," he said. "The chance to come back was never concrete because it is a difficult ...

David Moyes among nominees for Barclays manager of the season

David Moyes seems a rejuvenated manager since his return to management in the Premier League with West Ham. The Londoners have been punching above their weight since the Scottish manager took over and they narrowly missed out on a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. However, they got to settle for a place in the Europa League next season and this is a big development for West Ham who haven't been in Europe since the 2006/07 football season. With this notable improvement to the West Ham side, it comes as no surprise that David Moyes is one of the five managers who have been nominated for the 2020/21 Barclays Manager of the Season award. Moyes undoubtedly transformed the Hammers from relegation battlers to candidates for the Champions League in less than 12 months of his...

Moyes believes Lingard can force his way into the England team

West Ham manager David Moyes has backed Jesse Lingard to resurrect his career with the Three Lions after he scored twice on his debut for the Hammers to ensure victory against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Wednesday night. Lingard, 28, grabbed the brace before the watching eyes of England boss Gareth Southgate, as West Ham snatched all three points. He joined the Hammers on loan from Man United last week and has not played for England since 2019 after losing his position in Southgate's side due to poor form and lack of quality game time at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It can be recalled that he played a key role when England reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018 as he played 6 out of 7 games. Therefore, Moyes believes he can force his way into the side ah...

Moyes to get new contract as West Ham manager

David Moyes is enjoying his time in London with West Ham and is reportedly in talks about a new contract with the club. The early stages of the season have been positive for the West Londoners and they want continuity with the Scotsman. Moyes is in his second spell at the club and has been impressive, to say the least. They currently sit 5th in the Premier League after beating Aston Villa on Premier League matchday 10. His current contract expires at the end of the season and West Ham want him to be at their managerial helm beyond next summer. The club have been facing challenges on and off the pitch after moving to the London Stadium in 2016. However, they seem to have made progress after Moyes was appointed 12 months ago. Klopp enjoyed win against West Ham but not the performance

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp enjoyed the 2 nil result away to West Ham on Wednesday but not the performance as they moved 19 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. A first-half penalty by Mohammed Salah and a second-half strike by Oxlade-Chamberlain were enough to seal all three points for the Reds in their quest for the Premier League title. They were not at their best but still ground out a needed win. "It was not a brilliant performance. I wish we'd done better, but I'll take it like it is," said Klopp. "If it was easy to win this amount of games a lot of other teams would have done it. It was a tough game. We've played some super games, this was just a game." The result of the game which was rescheduled in December meant that Liverpool have now beaten all the team...

David Moyes urges IFAB to change the handball law

West Ham boss David Moyes has expressed the belief that the International Football Association Board (IFAB) should consider changing the handball law. Moyes admitted this after West Ham were denied an injury-time equalizer against Sheffield United in the Premier League on Friday night. Oli McBurnie opened the scoring for Sheffield United but the Hammers thought they had snatched a point when Robert Snodgrass managed to squeeze a low shot between a post and goalie Dean Henderson. However, their joy was cut short as VAR chalked off the ball as it had been headed against Declan Rice's arm from point-blank range by Blade's defender John Egan in the build up. The decision was right based on the new handball laws that were introduced this season. However, M...
