Arsenal FC legend Tony Adams has called on the club to let Alexis Sanchez leave if he is unhappy. Reports suggested that the Chilean was the subject of interest from Manchester City, who were willing to part with 60 million Pounds for his services during the close-season.
However, Sanchez remained with Arsenal although he entered into the final year of his contract with the club, and will be allowed to leave for free at the end of the season if new terms are not agreed.
According to reports, Arsenal may be looking to cash in on the attacker in January and Tony Adams has revealed that he wouldn’t hesitate to bid him farewell from the club.
“We used to have a philosophy at Arsenal: if you don’t want to be at the club then bye-bye, we shake your hand and get people that do, whatever money,” Adams told Omnisport during the premiere of new Arsenal film ’89’.
“I’ve always loved those principles, so if [Sanchez] doesn’t want to be here then, absolutely, try and get the most you can for him and get him on and get someone that does want to play for the club.”
