The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has claimed that two top European clubs are trying to sign the player. It can be recalled that the Italy international faced difficulties in his first season at Stamford Bridge after the £57million move from Napoli in 2018.
However, he has turned his Chelsea career around and established himself as one of the key players under Frank Lampard. He’s now the Blues’ vice-captain and has started 32 games in all competitions this season.
Jorginho has been linked with a summer move to Juventus, who are currently managed by former Napoli and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri. His agent Joao Santos in a chat with Radio Musica Television said:
“If you ask me if Sarri likes Jorginho, I’d say ‘yes’ due to their history.
“I can’t say anything about the transfer market as I’m not in touch with anyone right now.
“Jorginho still has three years left on his contract and is doing well at Chelsea, but if a big enough offer comes in then a deal could go through.
“In this sense, two top European clubs, not Italian ones, contacted me.”
Earlier this month, the Italian disclosed that he was close to leaving Chelsea after being booed by Chelsea fans in a Europa League win over Malmo last season.
He said: “Last year, fans were picking on me a lot because I’d arrived with another manager and, in my opinion, I ended up hearing some things that were honestly unfair.
“I’ve gone through moments like this at every club I’ve played for – this low moment when doubt can come and make you wonder,
‘should I just leave this place? Maybe there isn’t room for me here’.
“But I embrace this kind of challenge, and I’ve never backed down. It gives me more strength to work even harder, to prove to everyone that I can make it.”
